Everything but the name. Visual Studio for Mac is really the older Xamarin Studio project, rebranded as Visual Studio for Mac. It only supports C# and is much, much more limited. Jun 14, 2017 I've just installed the brand new Visual Studio for Mac. I was using VS Code lately. I wonder what are the benefits of using full Visual Studio versus VS Code if I don't care about Xamarin and I'm only interested in Unity programming with C#. VS for Mac is nothing like VS for windows, however, I have found it's a lot more stable than monodevelop. I rarely use my mac, but I did put VS for Mac on it and just have a better experience in it.
